Your Yogis

Jackie - Owner

Jackie first began her yoga journey in her early 20’s, but then life happened. She reunited with the practice in 2010 when that old flame came back to life in an “oh there you are” moment. As her personal practice progressed, so did her need to grow and share with others what yoga has to offer. As a nurse, Jackie has always been drawn to helping others. Teaching yoga was on her mind and while contemplating how to make this happen, the universe found a way to lead her on this path. Through 2019/2020 Jackie obtained her 500 hr AYT certification and Kundalini certification.

Jackie loves teaching vinyasa flow in the ashtanga/Hatha styles and moving meditations (kundalini) noting there is something so special about movement with flow and breath, stretch, and strength. As your guide on the mat, Jackie hopes for you to find release and joy through movement & breath, teaching to all levels.

When not on the mat, you will find her in the garden or hiking in the woods. “Whatever makes you feel sunshine from the inside out, follow that.” Sat Nam

Myriam - Founder

Myriam adopted yoga 10 years ago as a physical practice that soon evolved into a way of life. Now calling Alliston her new hometown, she, above all, enjoys practicing but has found a new calling in teaching her passion to fellow yogis. Myriam integrates a mix of styles into her challenging flows to ensure the right amount of variety targeting all major muscle groups. Having discovered yoga from the ground up, Myriam strives to offer the same experience, inclusive and accessible to all. Lastly, Myriam integrates meditation and breathing exercises into every class to complete your practice.

Corry

Corry started her journey with movement at age 6 studying ballet for over 12 years, she began her yoga practice 14 years ago and decided to start her Yoga Teacher Training in 2011.  However, early in her training Corry sustained an unrelated knee injury and was forced to put her yoga teacher training on hold.

As Corry’s mobility started to increase she returned to her mat and her yoga practice became a big part of her journey back to wellness.

In 2014 she resumed her Yoga Teacher Training, completing her CYA-RYT 200 hr. Hatha Certification in 2015 and has since been an active member of the Canadian Yoga Alliance.

Corry has been teaching yoga and other fitness classes for over 9 years, Corry brings positive energy and balance to each class, promoting calmness and encouraging participants to carry their intentions off their mats.  Corry insists yoga should be fun, and brings that attitude to her classes, promoting peace, mindfulness and gratitude.

Jan
Jan found yoga 15 years ago to balance long runs and a high intensity lifestyle.  It lead her to meditation and breathwork that gave such balance and joy to her life, in 2023 she opted to complete her 200Hr RYT training in the beautiful Kootenay Mountains in British Columbia.  Her power yoga classes challenge and balance the body to calm the mind. With a focus on breathwork throughout her classes, and guided teaching methodology, students should leave feeling refreshed and renewed.  I am honored to guide students in their yoga journey!

Drishti
Yoga has been a part of Drishti’s culture since she was a child. Her journey began when she was 10 years old, practising with her sangha (community) in west of India, where she was born. It started as just another cultural routine, but little did she know that her personal Yoga practise would be something that’d ground her after her move to a Western foreign country, Canada at 12 years old. Yoga & her Mat is something that holds a sacred space for Drishti till date. With the curiosity in Indian philosophy and physical alignments of yoga postures, Drishti decided to deepen her knowledge & got certified in 200-HR YTT from Keswick, Ontario in 2022. Her favourite style of yoga to teach is Vinyasa and Hatha which is welcome to all levels of students. She likes to provide modification options to make a class personal to one with a mix of challenging- strength, balance, flexible and dynamic postures with a soothing Savasana in her class. Drishti is very excited to get onto the path of teaching and to share her roots with her sangha here in Alliston via Yoga postures, Indian classical music in the background, & some mantra chanting to open/close her sacred Yoga class.
Ginny
Ginny is an experienced yoga teacher who has been teaching since she graduated from Hatha Yoga teacher Training in 2015. Her classes focus on proper alignment and breath work, Ginny’s classes are for all levels of experience and all shapes and sizes. Modifications and props are offered to encourage her students to trust in their bodies and take their practice to the next level.

Erin

I started my yoga journey in 2010 when I walked into a yoga studio to try something new. Little did I know how much that decision would change my life! I gradually adopted my yoga practice as an important part of my life and eventually found myself wanting to guide others through their practice as well.

I am a certified 200hr RYT. Certified through Ananda Yoga Studio, I took my Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 at Hot Yoga Bradford and not only fell in love with guiding yoga classes, but with the connection I felt with those I practiced alongside through body and soul. I am ecstatic to be sharing my knowledge and passion with others in my own community and especially at beautiful OM.

I enjoy teaching a variety of styles of yoga, from active Vinyasa Flows, Power Yoga, strong and gentle Hatha, to relaxing and restorative yoga, although a strong Vinyasa is what I like best.

I was born and raised in Alliston on a sheep farm. Although I moved around a bit through young adulthood, I eventually settled back in Alliston with my husband and three children. I enjoy writing, reading, singing and being outdoors. I like to bring little pieces of passion from all areas of my life into my yoga classes and I so look forward to sharing my passion with all of you!
